About AADEFIB Defibrillator Sales In The UK

In the UK there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrests (OHCA) a year where emergency medical services attempt to resuscitate the victim. However, the survival rate is low – less than 1 in 10 people in the UK survive an OHCA.

BUT – When a Defibrillator is used within the first three minutes of a Cardiac Arrest, the chances of survival increase by up to 70%.

Defibrillation is the ONLY treatment for a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm.  If required, it can send electric shocks to the heart to try to restore a normal ‘sinus’ rhythm. AED’s are used to treat Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) in Sudden Cardiac Arrest and should be used in conjunction with CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation).

AED’S are not used for a ‘Heart Attack’.  But a Heart Attack’ can sometimes lead to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

They are NOT “Heart Restarters” – a common misconception.  NOTHING will start a heart that has actually stopped !

Their life saving properties are well documented and after being sold for over 60 years, they are pretty much bomb proof and have become very user friendly.  It is said that anyone over the age of 7 can be trained to use them successfully.

In view of the importance of choosing the correct Defibrillator for your project, I feel that is important to discuss options with you before purchase.

Why am I selling them?

As Chairman of our Parish Council, I was tasked with buying a Defibrillator and Cabinet for the village.  The whole process was a nightmare !  Dozens of options with vastly variable specifications, wildly enthusiastic pricing, scaremongering and misleading information given by sellers.

The issue of ‘Governance’ was a favourite.  It should be noted that ANYONE can register a Defibrillator with their local Ambulance Control via ‘The Circuit’.  This information is passed to 999 Operators throughout the Country, who can supply the UNLOCK Code if the Defibrillator is in a locked Cabinet.  They can also talk the caller through CPR and the use of the Defibrillator.

I supply a simple Checklist for Weekly checks.

Our village was tight on funding and settled on a subsidised Defibrillator (which took a very frustrating 20 weeks to arrive and perhaps is not the ideal specification).  We also had problems with a ‘well priced’ cabinet which failed to open on several occasions !  This had to be returned and replaced with a more expensive make.  Hassle and false economy !

After all this, based on an awful lot of research and learning from my mistakes, I decided to supply these myself and try to make the whole purchase process more ethical, user friendly and affordable.

Why am I different from all the rest?

I’m not a lad in a call centre whose only interest is your Credit Card details !
I offer you a personal service with help and advice on the correct Defibrillator, fitting or cabinet for your particular needs.
I am able to offer you the best, high specification, value for money Defibrillators and Cabinets, from the world’s leading suppliers – at VERY competitive prices.

How can I do this?

I do not have the massive overheads (GoogleAds costs of £thousands per month !) that big companies have to cover.  I have negotiated special prices directly with the manufacturers that I can pass on to you.  I have now supplied over 1600 Defibrillators to individuals, communities, service organisations and businesses throughout the UK.

Which Defibrillator?

I supply Stryker/Physio-Control, Heartsine, iPAD and Zoll Defibrillators.  These are well tried and tested (with over a million Physio-Control Defibrillators in use worldwide).  They meet worldwide standards.  They are standard issue to around 80% of the UK’s Ambulance and First Responder crews.

They are very user friendly.  With the recommended fully automatic models you just press the On button or open the Defibrillator’s lid, place pads where shown and the machine does the rest !

The Defibrillator talks you through the whole process and decides IF to shock, WHEN to shock and at WHAT POWER to shock.

Annual Service Agreement ?

Often quoted at £180 to £300+ per year.  I believe this is an unnecessary expense to impose !

Routine replacement for the date stamped pads & battery costs between £28 and £90, depending on Defibrillator chosen, averaged per year (+ VAT).
I will send you a reminder prior to your Pads/Battery Expiry Date as part of my service.
The Defibrillator’s ‘Self-Checking’ protocols and the clearly visible flashing light or O in the display make regular checking (by owner) simple.
I supply a simple Checklist for this regular administrative checking (governance).  No other maintenance is necessary other than an occasional spray of WD40 for the Cabinet’s lock.
I provide information on registering Defibrillators with your local Ambulance Services via ‘The Circuit’.
The Defibrillators have an 8 or 10 year warranty.
I am available 15 hours a day, 7 days a week for help and advice.

A few Customer Comments:

Andrew, I feel honoured to know you, your commitment to promoting life-saving equipment is amazing. I love your ethics, and that you price your products fairly to encourage the take up of them instead of expensively to make vast profits, but in turn reducing the opportunities for deployment.  I know when I recommend anyone to contact you or send them to your website they will be met with a first-class professional and helpful service, that offers value for money.
